Amen Corner, a Pittsburgh civic association since 1870, held its 51st annual judicial reception on April 28, 2011 at the Common Plea Restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh. Over 200 guests attended to celebrate the association’s prestigious Robert E. Dauer Award for Judicial Leadership and Excellence presented to Judge Jeffrey A. New Member Meet and Greet - 2011
On Thursday, February 10, Amen Corner sponsored a Meet and Greet at the Common Plea Restaurant, for existing members, new members and potential new members.
We had a really great crowd, and the event was reminiscent of events of the past, where members got together for fun and relaxation. After all, that is part of what membership is about! We got rave reviews from all who attended!
Kudos and many thanks go to Amen Corner member Thom Naylor, and John Barsotti, of the Common Plea, for putting out a spread of great food for us.
We are planning to have more mixers and networking events in the near future, so keep an eye out for future announcements and invitations.
If you want to continue to get announcements and invitations, you have to make sure that you send in your dues when you receive your statements.
We look forward to more enjoyable upcoming events! Thanks and hope to see you soon!

Annual Meeting and Holiday Reception - 2010
The Amen Corner Annual Meeting and Holiday Reception was held on December 9, 2010 at the Wheelhouse Café in the Rivers Casino. The view was fabulous, and a great time was had by all!
The evening began with the installation of the new officers for 2011. New officers for 2011 are President – Mary Sue Ramsden, Esquire; Vice President - Nancy J. Dunkis; Vice President – Charles E. Evans, Esquire.; Vice President – Hon. Mary P. Murray, Esquire.; and Treasurer – John R. Bozic.
The presidential necklace was passed to President Ramsden by Bob Fragasso, who sat in for outgoing President, Ray Amelio, who was at the hospital awaiting the birth of his new granddaughter.
We were delighted to honor Rick Sebak , Senior Producer at WQED, with the David L. Lawrence Award for Public Service. Rick was extremely honored to receive this award and regaled us with wonderful stories of his experiences in Pittsburgh.
Bernadette Duvall was the catering manager and put out a wonderful spread of food, but also entertained us with her delightful singing. We were also honored by our new 2011 President, Mary Sue, who sang Christmas Carols for us. Who knew she had such a great voice!
The event was such a great success. The food, the people, the venue, everything was just wonderful. It was so enjoyable that we are considering having future events at the Rivers Casino, Wheelhouse Café!
We hope to see you at our next event!
